nOS Prototype
The key elements of the nOS prototype are 1) an onboarding process for users; 2) a module for planning social activities; and 3) reflection on one’s social health.
Onboarding
Your social health is unique to you. nOS helps align you with your ideal social health in three ways: by defining the people in your life you want to focus on, understanding your individual preferences for socializing, and identifying the common interests you share with those that matter most to you. These points of connections are then used to generate activity and conversation ideas.
Activity Planning
Life can be busy. So much so, that when we set a genuine intention to hangout, the business of life can often get in the way of coordinating those plans. Through our research, we determined that the planning of activities is a major sticking point of the social experience.
Imagine using your phone to seamlessly plan an activity with your friends, without the hassle of manually coordinating the time and place over text. Start by choosing who to invite, then choosing the activity, time, and location. nOS suggests times where you are all available and activities that you all enjoy, leaving the guesswork out of making plans.
Social Health Portal
In the social health portal, nOS presents you with a reflection question every week to empower you with new perspectives that encourage you to thoughtfully contemplate your social health.
People aren’t often aware of or think about their social health, even though it is as important as our physical and mental health. By making your connections salient nOS will ideally nudge you to maintain the connections you want to keep.
